Creating a blueprint for long-term hybrid working

We helped Bupa leaders ask the right questions and make big decisions about the future of work, putting wellbeing at the heart of it

As a business with wellbeing at its heart, Bupa knew the impact remote working can have on employee engagement and wellbeing, and wanted to do something about it. With big questions to answer and decisions to be made around the future hybrid model, we worked together to understand the priorities and short-term focus – with an eye on the long view so that decisions were deliberate, measured with evidence and sustainable.

We did a rich analysis of existing data, and shaped some key questions that the organisation has to address. We used these to design and deliver workshops with leaders and stakeholders, where we prioritised opportunities and areas of focus.

We then validated these priorities in interviews with senior leaders and employees across Bupa
to more fully understand their needs, thoughts, concerns and the reality of hybrid working.

Senior leaders at Bupa UK Insurance now have a blueprint for the future of work. It addresses their specific needs in three key areas: evolving leadership, new skills for hybrid working, and rethinking where Bupa’s people work.

The plan is a first step. It’s a starting point that provides clear action to be taken right now, which can also be built on over time.
